Jerald J. Soto
Jerry Soto specializes in providing services to Quigley & Miron’s small business and nonprofit clients.
Jerry joined Quigley & Miron in 1997 after a three-year association with St. Joseph Center and the California Association of Nonprofits. As Chief Financial Officer at St. Joseph Center, he was instrumental in developing a new accounting and management reporting system, including redesigning their chart of accounts and contract/grant revenue tracking systems. In addition to his nonprofit experience, Jerry has over ten years’ experience in the small business world, working as a general and technical manager, and as a controller within such diverse industries as commercial and residential real estate and light kit manufacturing.
Jerry has authored numerous articles in professional publications on current issues facing the nonprofit sector. These include The Nonprofit Quarterly, The Nonprofit Advocate, and Alert (The Journal for Nonprofit Managers). He has also taught financial and accounting seminars for American Humanics, under the auspices of the California State University, has participated as a panelist in various financial forums, and was a member of the Quality Reporting Project of the California Association of Nonprofits in partnership with the California Society of CPAs.
Jerry earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1979, and a Masters of Arts degree from the University of Connecticut, Storrs in 1982. He has also attended Texas Christian University, studying in the McNeeley Graduate School of Business.
